Well guys, i knew it was in the pipeline but did not know it would happen this soon. What’s your thoughts? Is this is a good thing for the club, or do you think this is a backward step. Personally i think this is a great move for the club and shows where we want to go this year. I’ve met the guy a couple of times this year and i know its his hometown, but he spoke about his desire to come and play for TFC which impressed me. Big plus as well is that he is a canadian boy which gives the team added authenticity. Let me know your thoughts

Hi Guys,  this our 1st ‘Open Topic’ thread where i want all of your views and opinions on the subject we are discussing. Our 1st topic is a funny but serious one, as i have never heard of anything like this in soccer before. But now looking at it makes a lot of sense, so have a read and please discuss..

ARGENTINE CHIEFS WILL USE A SPECIAL SPRAY TO STOP ENCROACHING ON FREE KICKS

Officials announced yesterday that referees will mark a temporary white line using a special aerosol can, they will mark a line 9.15metres(10 yds) from the ball which defenders cannot cross. The spray will then disappear 30 seconds later.

How do you feel this will effect the game ? Do you think it will slow the game down even more?                Can you see it catching on in different countries?  What about in the MLS? I personally do not think it will work at the Giants & patriots stadium ,they have too many lines as it is!!!                                                         Let me know your thought’s please.

The BMO is a weird place to be at the moment. Firstly to see this gigantic marshmallow like dome over the top of where we practice and play week in week out is very strange. The field seems like a different place than what we experience on the atmospheric match-day. It feels quite eerie on the pitch as you cannot see the stadium and do not get the feeling that you are actually in a stadium. Secondly  , its an absolute ‘Ghost Town’. No one is about the place, the locker rooms and halls are empty and even the office staff up-stairs look bored!!  Now i know all the players have gone back to their home towns and rightfully so,but this is where i am getting to. I am not the best of trainers at the best of times and you can ask the majority of players and Paul Winsper(fitness coach) who regularly get little chuckles out of my attempted sprints etc. So for me who’s getting  older and having to look after my fitness with even more scrutiny, i am finding it very hard to train alone! Paul who is probably one of the best fitness guys i have worked with has sent every player their off season fitness plan. And let me tell you, the boys who do not stick to this plan will get found out when we return to pre-season!   So as well as having to stick to a strict fitness regime i’ve got to do it alone. I hate training alone, i need someone with me who i can challenge or who can encourage me to carry on going. Thats why i have a lot of respect for those guys in individual sports who do lots of their training alone, i suppose its a battle with your mind foremost and then your body. So i am trying it alone at the moment hoping that an estranged player might appear from no-where and want to come in and help! Good job i’ve got my soccer schools going on in the evenings, where the kids keep me on my toes and the new adult camp i can actually join in and practice with.  Apart from that i may write an advert in to the local ‘Lonely hearts’ to see if there is anybody out there for me!!!

Hi Guys And welcome to my blog. I am very excited by doing this blog as it gives you the fan a greater insight as to what is going on in my everyday life and also my thoughts on what might be happening around the world and of course ‘The World of Soccer’. This is not going to be an average sports blog where we are only going to be speaking about myself, but we are going to be talking about goings on at TFC and Canadian soccer in general. Also the state of the MLS league and how it can progress. I am going to be answering lots of different questions and be holding a questionnaire night called ‘ Ask the Big Man ‘ where the best question asked in my opinion will win a signed prize. I am also going to be doing a celebrity questionnaire called ‘ In the Area with Danny’ where i am going to fire 12 random questions at a sports person from around the world that play either soccer, hockey, basketball, football etc , so look out for this it should be quite funny. And as some of you might know i used to DJ on the club scene in London back in the day so i have an avid interest in music of all tastes. So i am going to be giving you my top 5 tunes of the month on ‘ Danny’s Playlist’. If you would like to point out any new music that you think i might be interested or make the playlist then also let me know.. So thats enough of me talking now, i am going to open the first ‘ Ask the Big Man ‘ questionnaire today and close it on friday evening and announce the winner saturday who will win an official signed Danny Dichio jersey sent to them. Good luck and look out for the 1st blog tomorrow    Danny
