After a long time since our last competition, i thought we would have a bit of fun for this one. With the transfer window open in full effect for the up and coming season in Europe, i would like to know if you had unlimited funds i.e(MAN CITY). Who would you most like to bring to your club from, in my opinion, the 4 strongest leagues in the world at the moment. For example , 1 player from each of these league’s.
ENGLAND - Premiership
SPAIN - La Liga
ITALY - Serie A
GERMANY - Bundesliga
Please think about your options as you cannot buy 4 forwards or keepers, as you will not be able to keep all these superstars happy!! As always, the competition will be open for a week and the winner will receive a nice gift from Adidas. Happy spending…

England - Rio Ferdinand as he is still one of the best defenders in the world and leads/take charge of the back 4.
Spain - Cristiano Ronaldo as he terrorizes defenders no matter where he plays and is versatile as striker, midfielder and winger. Not to mention he is the best player in the world.
Italy - Maicon as a solid defender/winger who also scopres goals.
Germany - Grafitti, just a phenomenal talent and an all out striker.
hey Danny, it’s a tough choice, but mine would be:
Italy: Julio Cesar
Spain: Cristiano Ronaldo
England: John Terry
Germany: Franck Ribery
Well these are my choices.
Serie A - Alessandro Nesta
Premiership - Steven Gerrard
La Liga - Karim Benzema
Bundesliga - Thomas Hitzlsperger
I’ve had a slight change of heart having seen a post that didn’t appear yesterday when I wrote mine.
I would like to change my choices (just for the sake of differing) to;
Rene Adler
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Kenwyne Jones
Arjen Robben.
Serie A - Gianluigi Buffon
Premiership - Andrei Arshavin
La Liga - Sergio Ramos
Bundesliga - Franck Ribery
Buffon is all class in net and no player in the world brings the clothing accessories to the pitch like him. Arshavin proved against Liverpool last season that we’ve only just seen a glimpse of what he’s capable of. Ramos at only 23 is already one of the best defenders in the world and he can get forward down the wing and score as well as putting in some fantastic crosses. Ribery just seems like the obvious choice from Germany.
Serie A - Zlatan Ibrahimović
Premiership - Nemanja Vidic
La Liga - Rafael van der Vaart
Bundesliga - Sejad Salahovic
England - Jimmy Bullard
Spain - Julian DeGuzman
Italy - Diego Milito
Germany - Bastian Schweinsteiger
Serie A - Juventus - Gianluigi Buffon - GK
La Liga - Barcelona - Lionel Messi - MF/FWD
EPL - Liverpool - Fernando Torres - FWD
Bundesliga - Bayern Munich - Lúcio - DF
———————— Torres —————————

————————– Buffon ————————–
england - john terry
spain - messi
italy - buffon
germany - ribery
My nominations (which I think are world class!!) are:
England - S. Gerrard, Liverpool
Spain - Kaka, Real Madrid
Italy - Maicon, Inter Milan
Germany - F. Ribery, Bayern Munich
Thanks, Naomi.
England - Ryan Babel _ Midfielder (Great Pace, can finish)
Spain -Carlos Puyol _ Defender (Spain is about filling the net, but he’s the best defender in Europe)
Italy - Zlatan Ibrahimović _ Striker (In a reversal, the defensive minded league produces one of the best net fillers)
I’d prefer to have a player from my beloved Eredivisie (Hector Moreno), but I’ll follow the rules:
Germany - Mark Van Bommel _ Midfielder (Great fit with Babel, defensive mid)
P.S. if i was able to choose players from the same League, I would choose PUYOL or D.ALVES over MAICON, and C.RONALDO or KAKA over TORRES.
Also excuse my previous repetitive posts that was an accident.
england - cech
spain - Dani Alves
italy - diego
germany -ronaldo
Hi Danny, I think I’d definitely go for:
Gianluigi Buffon (Serie A)
John Terry (Permiership)
Franck Ribery (Bundesliga)
Lionel Messi (La Liga)
Add yourself to the list and that’s not a bad 5-a-side team!
Mike (@mikelegend)
I would buy Van Der Vaart from Real Madrid (easy to sign considering the amount of money Real have been spending already) to play just behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Inter. In goal I would probably choose Rene Adler from Bayer Leverkusen and, in front of him, I would choose Nemanja Vidić of Manchester United.
Keeping in mind transfers that have already happened:
GERMANY-Bundesliga: Bayern Munich Midfielder FRANK RIBERY
ENGLAND-Premiership: Liverpool Forward FERNANDO TORRES
ITALY-Serie A: Inter Milan Defender MAICON
SPAIN-La Liga: Real Madrid Goalkeeper IKER CASILLAS
This would reinforce each area of the field with a strong player to revolve the team around.
England - Vidic
Spain - Messi
Italy - Buffon
Bundesliga - Ribery
ENGLAND - Premiership : John Terry, what a backbone he would be.
SPAIN - La Liga : Sergio Aguero,to play underneath Adebayor & Tevez. Or wherever. The best one available now that Kaka & C Ronaldo are off the market.
ITALY - Serie A :Gennaro Gattuso,he’d be awesome w/ Ireland in the midfield. They need a guy just like him.
GERMANY - Bundesliga : Toni Kroos,a young forward who wouldn’t be angry if he started from the bench. He’d get minutes though with all the cup games etc. Promising youngster to say the least.
Afternoon Mr. Dichio,
I would take these players:
England - Cesc Fabregas (just cause I’m an Arsenal man…)
Spain - Victor Valdes (underrated!)
Italy - Diego (skill by the bucket)
Germany - Mezut Ozil (great one for the future)
And if the Eredivisie was part of this, I would take Marcus Berg! Ice in his veins!
Premiership - Luka Modric
La Liga - Lionel Messi
Serie A - Fabio Cannavaro
Bundesliga - Manuel Neuer
I tried to have an even mix of superstars and up-and-coming/promising players in various positions to account for what you said about trying to keep them all happy.
