Well, after much deliberation i have chosen my winner!! It was a very hard choice and i changed my mind many times leading up to the final decision. I must say that i was very impressed with the different styles of songs being put forward ranging from Gary Glitter to Rick Astley!! There were many songs that i have not heard before that came close including (YYZ)-Rush, (CITY IS MINE)-Drake, (CODE OF THE ROAD)-Danko Jones .Then there were some crackers from some of my favourite artists like The Specials, Oasis, The Jam , The Flaming Lips and of course ‘Mettalica’. But in the end i narrowed it down to 2 songs that i think will get the team and fans pumped up just before the game. Before i announce the winner though i would like to comment on how we should use the ‘Legend TFC’ song or the ‘My Town’(TFC VERSION). At some of my previous clubs i played at especially Millwall (who also have a very loyal following) they would have a special song to gee up the players and the crowd just before kick-off. This would be a song that the home support knows well and sing traditionally every game. I think either of these songs would be quality for you lguys to get together and create a little buzz before kick-off. Its only a little suggestion to maybe get everyone in the ground having a big part in a song thats close to all the fans…

So anyway enough of my rambling, lets get to the chosen song that i think will work well on a match day. It was very hard to choose between these two songs, but in 1st place it is ‘ THE PRODIGY’ with their song ‘BREATHE’. This song is an instant crowd jumper and should get everyone’s adrenalin pumping as soon as it comes on. The Prodigy were also one of my favourite dance bands from back in the day, so great choice ‘Dee’( Choice No.28) you have won a signed pair of my worn boots from last season. Please email me with all your details. Coming in close 2nd was ‘GROOVE ARMADA’- SUPERSTYLIN.                                                    Thanks again guys for all your feedback and entries, congrats to DEE again and look out for the next compo coming soon. Right Guys & Gals, its competition time again!

Another great prize is up for grabs and this time the idea is coming from you the fans. I want to know which song you think would be the best for the team to run out to before the game. It can be any song which you think might get the team pumped or ready before coming out to battle!! Please give your reason why you think it might work and i am going to put the winning song forward to our people in the office and see if we can get it actually played before one of our games. Good luck and i’m looking forward to listening what crazy music tastes you guys actually have!

THE COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED - THANKS FOR YOUR ENTRIES - STAY TUNED FOR A WINNER!

So , me and Jimmy are back from our long week in sunny Florida on the USSF ‘B’ coaching course. Eight days of listening, training & coaching was very testing but very enjoyable. By that, i mean on average we we’re spending 8-9 hours on the pitch every day and then in the evening we were having lectures on different topics involving soccer,  tactics, methods, fitness or psychology . Most of the instructors on the course were very good and some were a bit uninterested . The head guy who’s name is Gordon Miller was very good and in fact a canadian guy now working for the United States Soccer Federation( Says a lot for the CSA ). The course was very organized and went into good detail about what a coach needs as a base to become a successful manager. We met some great people down there on the course as well, ranging from Josh Wolfe (Kansas City & USA) to very renowned college coaches from all over the US. It was good to see & hear other people’s opinions on the beautiful game and also see coaches ideas and practices put on show in front of everyone. All in all i thought it was a very beneficial week for us both and will definitely help us in the future with whatever we decide to do once our playing careers are over.
